In the UK, euro cash (notes only) has been available since 1 January 2002. The former national currencies are no longer legal tender. If you have some of these monies see the exchange your old currency section of this site.

Euro area dependent territories

A number of the euro area countries have dependent territories that have had to decide whether or not to adopt the euro or keep their existing currency.
