Cross-border payments in the EU

The Euro Preparations Unit has produced a simple self-test euro thermometer for business (shown below). Take a few minutes to complete and submit the self assessment chart, this will give you a good idea if you should be thinking now about dealing with the euro. It will also signpost you towards helpful sources of information and advice.

		Do you have customers in the euro area?
		Do you have suppliers in the euro area?
		Are you unable to make or receive payments in euros if asked?
		Do you know how to recognise euro notes and coins?
		Would you know what to do if someone wanted to pay in euro?
		Are you unable to take advantage of the business opportunities arising from the changeover process in the euro area?
		Do you apply different prices in different euro area countries?
		Are any of your competitors based in the euro area?
		Are you in a supply chain involving a multinational corporation?
		Do you know where to find up-to-date help and information on issues relating to the practical implications of the euro for your business?
